Full Description
{1} A wide linear ditch which may have formed part of a large defended enclosure was seen on aerial photos. Subsequent trial trenching revealed a large anomaly consisting of a band of mixed clays and sands. A section through this showed unstratified layers of material however, which suggests that it is a natural feature. The deeper topsoil filling in this feature may explain the creation of a cropmark.
