Summary

Crop/soilmark: Non-destructive fieldwork

Map

Type and Period (2)

Full Description

{2} Other cropmarks, apparently overlying the north and south sides of the outer circuit, may represent later enclosure and ditch systems.

{3} Trench 37 contained a narrow gully aligned NW/SE that correlates to a curving cropmark that appears to arch off the outer circuit of the causewayed enclosure. The gully had a sharp ‘V’- shaped profile but contained no finds. However, a single flint scraper was recovered from the ploughsoil within the vicinity of the gully. The ditch's apparent association with the enclosure suggests that it was part of a contemporary arrangement.
