Summary
Cropmarks of two possible rectilinear enclosures

Type and Period (1)
Full Description
{2} Both within and outside the southern part of the large enclosure are several curvilinear positive magnetic anomalies which may represent ring-ditches or small enclosures.
{4} SP72576337. Faint cropmarks of two small rectilinear enclosures are visible on 1983 oblique air photographs. The enclosures overlap each other slightly indicating that they are not absolutely contemporary, however their similarity in shape and form indicates that they probably relate to each other closely in function and general date.
The larger of the two enclosures is 20 x 20 metres in size with a four sided polygonal shape and curved corners. The smaller enclosure is similar in shape with more angular corners and 12 x 11 metres in size. The larger enclosure overlaps the Dallington causewayed enclosure (NMR No SP 76 SW 53). The enclosures are only visible on 1983 photographs and the cropmarks themselves are very faint, it is possible therefore that they may be of agricultural origin.
These enclosures were plotted during a RCHME Air Photography Unit photogrammetric survey of the area, which was undertaken in October 1994 as part of the Industry and Enclosure in the Neolithic Project.
