Monument record 1008/0/21 - Possible Prehistoric Enclosure (Morphed Aerial Archaeology Interpretation)

{3} - In 2023, SUMO undertook geophysical investigation which detected strong positive curvilinear anomalies and trends in the south of area 2 that forms an irregular shaped enclosure, measuring 41m E-W and 36m N-S. An angular ditch-like anomaly extends beyond the enclosure in the north-west and there are several potential breaks in the enclosing circuit, but these may be due to underlying geological effects. Within the enclosure is a ring anomaly that measures 9.7m in diameter with a clear entrance in the south-west. Also, there are numerous pit-like responses scattered within the enclosure which support the interpretation of the ring ditch being a round house. To the south and west are a few linear trends, a number of pit-like responses and a very weak circular response which are all classified as being of possible archaeological interest.
