{3} The main features picked up by the surveys is the ridge and furrow running east to west near the bottom of the survey area. To the north of this area of ridge and furrow, which is very obvious on the ground, are further strips running north to south and at wider centres.

{5} A gravel pit has obliterated the ridge and furrow in the south east of the area but further north the surviving ridge and furrow extended right up to the existng hedge withough a break for a headland, shwoing that during open field ploughing the ploughs had been turned on the centre portion of the Roman road.
