Full Description

{1} Pottery recovered as follows:
1 x 850-1100 St Neots ware
4 x 1100-1400 Shelly coarseware
8 x 1100-1400 Miscellaneous Sandy coarseware
1 x 1200-1600 Brill/Boarstall ware
3 x 1250-1600 Potterspury ware
2 x 1700-1899 Miscellaneous wares
Generally undisturbed since the medieval period. Indicates proximity to occupation, although not proven at this location. Possibly intensively farmed arable land which received more manuring than outlying furlongs has skewed the ceramic profile. A similar piece of early medieval pottery from TP35 might be used as evidence for significant activity if not occupation in this area east of the main enclosure around AD1000.
