Full Description

{1} A substantial north east-south west aligned linear feature traversed the north west end of trenches 8 and 9. It measured 4.25m in width and was 0.75m deep, and approx 14m long. It had a ditch-like profile with a gently sloping side breaking more steeply 0.6m from the edge. A small quantity of Roman pottery dated to between the late 2nd to mid 3rd centuries was recovered. The substantial size of the feature suggests it probably represents a field or property boundary.
