Description

{1} Plan of survey area is taken from the later trial trench report. {2} A detailed magnetometer survey was carried out on land to the rear of the former tannery on Wellington Road, Raunds. An irregular positive area anomaly was found to the north of the site and is most likely to have been caused by quarrying in the past. Several positive linear anomalies have been located and are possibly responses to former land boundaries. In the west of the site areas of magnetic disturbance are likely to have been caused by dumped thermoremnant material.
