Summary

This may have been the mill recorded for Brantone at Domesday. The mill was demolished at some point after the 1930s, although in situ brickwork has been recorded.

Full Description

{1} There are documentary references to a mill hereabouts from at least the medieval period. The corn mill was converted to a pumping house in 1883. The mill was disused by 1915 and demolished by the 1930s.

{2} In 1826 the mill, mill house and mill pond were purchased by the Earl Spencer… The sale description is of "a small house, small water wheel, with a very good supply of water and fall".
