Full Description

{2} Bunkers Hill Farm, 1776, formerly castellated.

{3} Bunkers Hill Farm is the most functional of the follies in Wentworth's landscape. The two sides of Bunkers Hill Farm that face Boughton Park have elaborate castellated facades and quatrefoil windows, a design that extends to the outbuildings. The datestone on the farmhouse is inscribed "S 1776"). Bunkers Hill is positioned on the brow of a hill to achieve the greatest impact on the landscape. William Wentworth left Bunkers Hill to his first footman Samuel Redgrave, so it became detached from Boughton Park until it was rejoined in 1863.
