Monument record 6295/0/1 - Possible undated enclosures, west of Overstone Farm

Geophysical survey in 2009 and 2020 identified possible curving ditches. Trial trench excavation in 2010 did not find any evidence for the ditches, although trial trench excavation in 2019 identified a ditch that may be the eastern side of the eastern enclosure. However, no dating evidence was recovered.

{1} A curving positive anomaly was detected towards the pylon and a second curving ditch located in the eastern corner

{2} NO trace of these features was recovered during trial trenching.

{3} Geophysical survey and subsequent trial trench excavation identified a curving ditch that may be the eastern arm of an enclosure identified by geophysical survey but not trial trench excavation to the west in previous phases of investigation. No dating evidence was recovered from the ditch fill.
