Full Description

{1} Among the remains of the medieval village of Finedon there are: the foundations of an old dower house; foundation of crofts dating back to medieval times; pottery dating from before the Norman Conquest.

{2} Finedon has been partly ploughed; tile, wattle and daub and C12 sherds have been recovered near a medieval road; the C17 dower house platforms are still visible but are in danger of being covered in spoil; five wells have also been found.
