Full Description
{2} The area of the Sand Pit contains both reinstated and disused open quarries which extend to the edge of the survey area. The former quarrying immediately to the east of the KSR works extends southwards to the edge of the metalled trackway and now contains a large pond. An active quarry is currently being worked westwards from the Sand Pit area on the north-east corner of Great Byards Sale.
