{1} Owners from 1873 Northampton Coal,Iron & Wagon Co.,from 1876 Hunsbury Hill Coal & Iron Co.Ltd.,from 23rd February 1889 P.Phipps, from 1922 Hunsbury Hill Iron Co., and from September 1935 Richard Thomas & Co. Ltd. Work commenced on the site in early 1873 and closed in early 1921 but with quite good reserves and although bought by other companies never worked again.The ore was taken from the quarry to the nearby furnace at Hunsbury Hill. Part of the tramway and quarry face can easily been seen in Hunsbury Park. Also at the park is the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway Trust part of there line running on the loop of the old quarry tramway. Where the railway trust line runs over the Green Lane the old tramway to the last of the quarry face can be seen running parallel to the right.
