Full Description

{1} The remains of medieval ridge and furrow ploughing lying north to south, running down slope, were present in trenches 1, 2 and 3.

{2} Remnant furrows aligned NNW-SSE were present across the excavated area. The furrows were spaced between 4m and 7m apart and were between 1.8m and 2.4m wide. A small assemblage recovered from the surface of the furrows indicartes that the cultivation system went out of use in the late 19th to mid 19th century.
