Full Description

{1} A walled garden is shown on the north side of the northern lake in the 1880s.

{2} During the evaluation, a 19th century path constructed of limestone fragments with an associated drain at its side was found. This was also picked up as a negative magnetic anomaly running alongside the kitchen garden wall. A verticle sided pit below the garden soil cut the path and contained large quantities of animal bone and 19th century china.

Tthe geophysical survey indicated that there was more than one path and a series of parallel linear anomalies aligned north-east to south-west across the slope may relate to former landscape terracing of the garden.
