Full Description

{1} Identified by South Northamptonshire Council as being a building of historic and/or architectural significance.

{2} Analysis & photographs.

Repeated modification has left brick and stone mixed in all areas of the building. A three bay building with a stone frontage dated 1771 has a central doorway between two bay windows. The southern ground floor room was until until recently used as a shop. The attic floor shows a roof structure similar to that at 34 and 36 in the northern bays only. The principal rafters have collars and the purlins are tenoned with a fished scarf joint through the principal. There is evidence for a former dormer window.
The southern bay is of later construction.

The beam in the central room has a stepped ogee stop to the fire stack wall. This is only decorative stop observed in the building.
