Full Description
{1} The cottage at the north of the building complex was occupied in 1841 by John Weston, a tailor from Adlestrop in Gloucestershire. He died in 1854, and the occupier was subsequently his son Thomas, who was described in 1891 as an outfitter.
At the south of the site was a taller building used in the 18th century as a farmhouse. John Johnson lived there in 1772, working as a farmer with 3 yardlands. At his death, the property and farm were inherited by his daughter Margaret, whose son Richard lived there are worked the farm at differing times throughout the latter part of the 19th century. The house was sold in 1900 to Mr. F. Myers of Charlton Lodge, and was sold again to Mr. F.E. Smith K.C. (a future Lord Chancellor) shortly thereafter.
