Full Description
{1} Shows pattern of medieval/post medieval cultivation strips which formerly existed across this area.
{2} The eastern half of Field 2 was walked. Only four sherds of medieval pottery together with part of a glazed tile were present. Although traces of ridge and furrow have been recorded here previously the paucity of pottery form this period suggests that the field was only taken into arable cultivation late in the Middle Ages, possibly because of the wet nature of the area. However, the even distribution of post medieval pottery suggests that the field has been cultivated continusously since then.
During metal detecting Field 2 yielded a Hans Krauwinckle jetton (1580-1620).
