Full Description

{1} A sub-circular pit was revealed in Trench 1. It contained pottery dating to 1250-1400, but also conatined residual Iron Age pottery including a fragment of a cordoned Gallo-Belgic girth beaker. The pit had steep sides to a flat base. In the west side of the excavated section of the pit a layer of burnt clay was observed which had the appearance of a floor or a working surface, but no dating was recovered from this layer.
