Full Description

{1} In Trench 27 there were two ditches. One was aligned east to west, 1.30m wide x 0.30m deep and with a V-shaped profile. A second ditch was situated less than 1.00m to the north-west of the first. It was aligned north-east to south-west and was 1.20m wide x 0.20m deep. This ditch appeared to terminate just beyond the southern edge of the trench. There was a shallow gully aligned north-west to south-east in Trench 25. It was 0.60m wide x 0.08m deep.

{2} Segmented linear ditches were present in Areas A and C, aligned north-west to south-east, east to west and north-east to south-west. Only a portion of the linear ditch system was observable and no finds were recovered from the excavated sections. However, by analogy with similar field systems recorded as part of the Raunds Area Project, a middle to late Bronze Age date is suggested.
