Full Description

{1} Many of the trenches contained evidence of furrows running in various directions. Ridge and furrow field systems were in common use in the county throughout the medieval and into the post medieval period. The existence of field systems here is documented in the 1739 Raunds Open Field map.

{2} Post-medieval activity was present on the site as the remains of ridge and furrow along with field boundary ditches and a fenceline.
