Full Description

{1} A magnetometry survey found evidence for a sub-rectangular ladder enclosure. Morphologically similar in shape and size to the one found at Milton Ham, near Junction 15 of the M1, which dated to the 3rd to 4th centuries AD.

{2} The geophysical survey undertaken by CLASP identified a series of linear and rectilinear magnetic anomalies aligned north to south and are interpreted as components of a 'ladder' settlement, composed of enclosures and paddocks. The 'ladder' settlement lies in a general north-east alignment, parallel with Glassthorpe Road. Overall it is c96m long, c37m wide at the southern extent and tapers to 15m wide at the northern end.
