Full Description

{1} A trial excavation undertaken by D. Jackson at the cinema site found a layer of limestone blocks at a depth of 2m below ground level. It was assumed they were the base or foundation for a wall which was about 1.8m wide. Several blocks of stone brought to the surface wre found to be large (c 0.55m x 0.35m x 0.2m). There was no obvious robber trench visible.
