Monument record 1158/3 - Iron Age settlement, Kitts Lawn

Geophysical survey and archaeological evaluation identified a small concentration of roundhouses and enclosures associated with Iron Age pottery. Probably associated with a more extensive area of settlement to the west

{1} Geophysical survey identified a group of features in the north-east corner of the field, probably representing a continuation of the settlement remains to the north.

{2} Archaeological evaluation confirmed archaeological featrues in the north-east corner of the field. A concentration of roundhouses and enclosures was associated with Iron Age pottery and animal bone. Possibly associated with the settlement to the north. In the western part of the field a small number of linear features may have been part of a contemporary field system.
