Full Description

{1,2} Level II building recording was undertaken prior to conversion into a dwelling (along with a further building to the west). The two storey barn is built using red brick stretchers and semi-vitrified headers to create a chequer-board type effect. It has a slate roof. The south-west facing elevation
has a single doorway with a segmental brick arch. To the north of this doorway is a double door with a modern RSJ lintel. The south-east facing gable end has a single hayloft door set at first floor level with no indication of any other openings. The northeast facing elevation faces into the modern metal and timber barn and has been extensively modified.
The open-fronted stables link the stone and brick-built barns at their northern ends. There are two open bays forming a lean-to structure between the two barns and an enclosed room is located behind the brick-built barn.

{3,4} Archaeological observation was undertaken during the construction of the extension. No archaeological features or finds were revealed or retrieved.
