Full Description
{1} A watching brief undertaken in 2020 during the excavation of house footings identified a large pit with a small number of 17th-century sherds of pottery. The lack of domestic refuse seems to suggst it may have been dug for the localised extraction of the local clay, quite possibly for marl or even for making bricks.
