Summary

A test-pit excavation at Court Road identified several features of potential archaeological significance including an undated beam slot, a 17th century wall and a post-medieval pit. A possible Pleistocene glaciolacustrine deposit or interglacial lake deposit was observed in five of the test pits.

Full Description

{1, 2} Eight trial pits were excavated across the site. Although most of the deposits were of modern origin, a post-medieval wall was identified, as well as an undated linear beam slot and a post-medieval pit. A Pleistocene glaciolacustrine deposit or possibly a Holocene alluvium was observed in several pits.
