Monument record 1160/390/2 - Probable post-medieval tanning pits, south of St Peter's Way
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Archaeological evaluation on land south of St Peter's Way identified a stone-lined pit containing significant quantities of animal bone within a creamy mortar. This is similar to other examples excavated to the west and north and is likely to be associated with the post-medieval tanning industry.
