Monument record 9149 - Probable Field Boundary or Enclosure System, land of Herne Road

The geophysical survey found several possible archaeological features, suggesting the presence of field boundaries or a potential enclosure system.

{1} Cotswold Archaeology undertook a geophysical survey of the site in 2026. They found anomalies which were to be classified into three categories : archaeological, modern and undetermined. There were modern debris and magnetic disturbances present across the area, more specifically, along the survey edges. There were several possible archaeological features identified which suggested the presence of field boundaries or maybe an enclosure system. However, there were a couple of unidentified anomalies noted within the survey, but, due to their irregular shape: the origins could not be identified at this stage. Several ferrous spikes and plaes of modern disturbances were identified in the survey, this was most likely caused by the ferrous material noted on site during the prestart walkover.
