Full Description

{1} 19 Romano-British pot sherds found in association with stone areas and occupation layers

{2} Several areas of very black occupation debris associated with a stone surface, badly disturbed by machines. Pottery and stonework also seen, along with evidence of burning.

{3} Romano-British pottery scatter, found in 1977.

{4} The field yielded much Romano-British pot, with some medieval and some later, but something about the spread of thematerial makes me suspect that is has been brought from elsewhere to fill an old quarry hole. Cerrtainly some very interesting pieces can be recovered here, notably a rouletted, rosette-stampes buff ware and some crudely-repaired 3rd century pot.
