Full Description

{2} Observation of a contractor's trench revealed road surfaces up to depth of 1.1m and C13-16th pottery.

{3} Road surfaces to depths of 1.10m at north end of Spring Gardens and 1.40m at south end of Spring Gardens.

{4} Observation of service trench revealed road surfaces and pottery.

{5} At the junction of Derngate and Spring Gardens metalling was revealed at a depth of 1.4m below the present ground level. Late medieval pottery and painted glass were also reported but may relate to observation undertaken by R.Moore & B.Giggins of same trench.
