Summary

Romano-British finds including pottery, a glass vessel and a coin recovered from Brixworth. Iron Age and early Saxon pottery also recovered. The land has been previously quarried.

Full Description

{1} Trial excavation found Belgic, Roman and early Saxon pottery;

{2} The land was restored after quarrying; finds since restored;

{3} 60 x 5ft trench dug in 1972 for Brixworth Archaeological Research Committee over an apparent Romano-British site, showed that all the soil had been restored after quarrying; Late Belgic, Romano-British, and Early Saxon pottery sherds were found. SP743701 (3);
