Full Description

{1} Features revealed in 1975 by quarrying. Irregular Beaker pit 0.5m x 0.93m in diameter x 0.18m deep. A ginger-brown stoney fill containing burnt stones and about 190 beaker pot sherds as well as a flint flake.

{2} A small pit containing 180 beaker pot sherds from not less than ten vessels.

{3} Neolithic and Beaker pits (SP 934977) on the S side of the Welland valley, on limestone at 90 m. above OD. Ironstone-working has revealed a small pit containing 180 sherds of Beaker pottery which came from not less than ten different vessels.

{4} Two pits. One of the pits contained 190 sherds of decorated pottery including one sherd of cordoned ware. The other pit contained 7 sherds of collared urn and two beaker sherds with combed lozenage decoration.
