Full Description
{1} Site 23. 16 early-middle Saxon pot sherds were found during fieldwalking over a very limited area; possibly related to a cemetery.
Site 24. An early Saxon long glass bead was found during fieldwalking. It is characteristic of Saxon grave goods and may represent a cemetery related to this site.
{2} Fieldwalking by D N Hall and P Martin recovered Saxon pottery;
{3} No evidence for Saxon activity was found during trial trenching in this area;
