Full Description

{1} Excavation during 1979-80 by M.Audouy; late Saxon, medieval and post medieval inhumations were revealed in the church.

{4} Stone coffin in garden of 16 Doddington Road in 1955; not in-situ and possibly recovered from the churchyard.

{5} Possible medieval cross fragments noted in All Saints churchyard.

{6} Finds of worked stone were made in the garden of 16 Doddington Road. The stone coffin recorded in the newspaper article has now gone and it was thought these may the remains. A site visit was inconclusive. Although the stone could not be dated and a Roman origin not ruled out, a medieval date would be more likely, perhaps re-used from the All Saints Churchyard.

{7}Late Medieval/Post medieval cemetery discovered during underpinning work on the church. 25 burials in wooden coffins nailed, some with iron fittings. Some of the burials may be as late as the 18-19th centuries.
