Full Description

{1} Earthworks of a hollow way, recently filled with rubble

{2} It is not possible to identify the medieval park with certainty but a hollow way, visible on air photos but now destroyed, may form its boundary. It ran from the south corner of Park Farm curving gently south west and crossing the stream in the valley bottom at SP 7755 4966. It then ran north west towards Ashton. The part of the hollow way east of the stream may have formed the south boundary of the early park and the stream the west boundary. The north edge is impossible to determine but it may be represented by the hedge which runs south east from the head of the stream towards Park Farm.
No substantial boundaries survive apart from normal hedge banks. Aerial photos NCCAP: SP7749/2-3.
