Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking in April 1989 by M. Holmes. A limestone spread was noted, possibly indicating sub-surface structures.

{3} Systematic fieldwalking in 1989 had revealed a dense concentration of Roman pottery at the west end of Field 1. Plot of cropmarks found linear enclosure ditches. Trial trenching found stone wall footings, floor surfaces, hearth and postholes with limestone packing was revealed.

{4} Middle to late Iron Age enclosures, Roman settlement, Saxon, Medieval and Post Medieval settlement, evaluation by M. Shaw.
