Full Description
{1} A single large pit or ditch with almost vertical sides and at least 1.3m deep, containing 26 sherds of shelly ware dating to c.1100-1400 AD. A sherd of local iron-glazed earthenware of c.1600-1750AD and a large post medieval tile fragment were also found but these might have been included by mistake as a modern sewer pipe cut the feature, htereby providing a source of contamination.
