Full Description

{1} Gully orientated NE to SW, possibly a property boundary at the back of the dwellings fronting onto the south side of Grange Road. Contained 4 body sherds and a jug handle of 12th century date.

{2} F6 was another gully, which ran for 1.9m in a south-west to north-east direction into the north-east corner of the trench. Its south-western terminal appeared to have been truncated by a field drain. The gully was 0.74m wide x 0.11m deep maximum. It contained several fragments of bone (the majority from a dog), and a small number of early medieval pot sherds (and one Roman sherd).

{3} The most easterly of the gullies contained pottery and is tentatively dated to the 12th century.
