Summary

Cropmarks show small enclosures, a number of pits and a ditched track. Scatters of Roman pottery and building stone covering 3 acres indicate a possible settlement.

Full Description

{1} Roman settlement, only visible as somehat indistinct cropmarks on air photos but appears to consist of a group of small enclosures associated with a large number of pits. A ditched track or droveway lies immediately to the west.

{2}Cropmark of enclosure noted during aerial photography 1982.

{3} Crop marks at SP 95807360 by R Hollowell in July 1969.

{4} Arable land; no surface remains seen. Air photographs (Hollowell) not available.

{5} SP 968735. Romano-British villa-farm spreading over about 3 acres; building stone, colour coated ware, 1st century rim, dark occupation.
