Summary

Cropmarks visible on aerial photographs associated with Roman pottery suggest a possible settlement. Some of the features were interpreted as medieval during the Northants NMP.

Full Description

{1} (SP 837624) Cropmarks seen by R Hollowell and Mr Kirk. (Nothing visible on available APs RAF 1960)

{2} R Hollowell thinks this site was photographed by A R Kirk who is now in Cornwall. Now under barley, not perambulated.

{3} Roman settlement and pit alignment (SP 837624) on gravel. Air photographs show a pit alignment running E-W and intersecting three parallel ditches. To the S are numerous pits and some ring ditches or small enclosures some of which may be hut-circles. Roman pottery has been found in the area.
