Monument record 2940 - Spratton

Summary
At Domesday in 1086, Spratton was a moderate-sized village with a mill. The church originated in the 12th century and retains some medieval window glass. Farming was the main economic focus although lacemaking was also an important occupation. Earthworks of former medieval/post-medieval settlement may survive on the north-eastern edge of the current village.
