Summary
A double ditched banjo-type enclosure of probable Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The cropmarks of a small irregular enclosure with an entrance on the south from which project two curving 'antennae', set within a larger rectangular enclosure. Located in a field adjacent Wollaston Road SW of Greenfield Lodge, the feature comprises two subcircular 'double' ditches that encloses an area about 83.5 metres in diameter. Within the double-ditches is a banjo-type ditched enclosure, the entrance for which extends SSE through the boundaries of the outer ditches.

Full Description
{1} Irregular enclosure with a funnel-shaped entrance passage, photographed in 1966. The westernmost of the entrance ditches turns through 90 degrees and runs due west; the easternmost ditch turns, runs due east, and then turns again to run north and then west.
{2} Settlement (SP 906603): fig 18), in the N of the parish, on Boulder Clay at 91 m. above OD. Air photographs (in the NMR) show a small irregular enclosure with an entrance on the S from which project two curving 'antennae'. This is set within a larger rectangular enclosure.
{5} A double ditched banjo-type enclosure of probable Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in a field adjacent Wollaston Road about 600 metres SW of Greenfield Lodge and centred at SP 90628 60324, the feature comprises two subcircular ‘double’ ditches up to 4 metres wide that encloses an area about 83.5 metres in diameter at its widest. Within the double-ditches is a banjo-type ditched enclosure, the entrance for which extends SSE through the boundaries of the outer ditches.
{6} Under crop. In form this cropmark is similar to IA/RB sites with which it is surrounded.
