Full Description

{1} Known site at Springfield Lodge. Late colour-coated sherds, dark area, pebbles, puddingstone quern. Hilltop site. Visited again 10th March 1984 when in better condition.

{2} Fragments of mortaria, Nene Valley and samian wares have been found in a thick scatter of glacial boulders. The boulders were perhaps building material;

{3} Fieldwalking survey; dark soil and stone area, building material, pebbles and Roman pottery sherds including colour coat, Samian, mortaria and Roman puddingstone quern, published NGR SP969868;

{4} Area defined by D N Hall 29/11/1982; no reference to stone;

{5}Finds; pre 1976;

{6} Pottery and roof tiles and saddle quern.

{7} NH 13 Listed as the possible site of a Roman villa.
