Monument record 4664 - Probable Iron Age & Romano-British Settlement, including a possible villa

Summary
A five acre scatter of Roman material including pottery, 4th century coin and brooch found in 1969. Possible Iron Age pottery also found. A stone scatter found which may be the remains of a villa. Extensive cropmarks and soilmarks have also been identified including one of a possible winged building.

Full Description
{1} Finds of possible Iron Age sherds along with Romano-British pot sherds including samian, colour-coated and grey wares. A Roman coin of Constans and a Roman brooch.
{2} A scatter of Roman material extending over 2ha, including samian, colour-coated and grey wares, as well as some possible Iron Age sherds. A coin of Constans and a brooch have also been recorded.
{5} Additional undated aerial photographs held under RN:7251001. Need to source these.
