East End Open Field System; the medieval fields were surviving in 1972 as pasture ridge and furrow with low linear headland earthworks in the arable fields. No records of manorial courts on how the fields were cultivated and regulated. The East End fields were known as Upper (alias Preston Hedge), Middle, Moor and Firedale Fields. From terriers of 1660 it shows a typical C17th landscape. The East End Fields lay to the east of the former road between Nunn Mills and Hardingstone.
