Full Description
{1} The barrow group is clearly not closely aggregated but forms a dispersed arrangement with a minimum 120m and maximum 270m interval between mounds. Each mound occupies the northern extremity of a low spur or ridge running north-south. This must be a purposeful and uniform locating arrangement given the wide range of choice for possible siting. Considering the general geographical situation shared by the group, their structural similarites, and the consistent siting arrangement, the Irthlingborough mounds must be seen as a dispersed by integral group.
