Abstract/Summary

A corridor 400m long by 15m wide revealed an area of extensive middle Iron Age settlement, including a roundhouse, two small enclosures, and a dense scatter of shallow pits and postholes. An adult inhumation burial within the plot lay face down with a collar or torc around her neck. One burial set slightly apart had been within a wooden coffin, and a possible timber mausoleum.
