Abstract/Summary

Trial excavation of a plot of land on the east side of Vicar lane revealed some ditches and hollows of medieval date cut into the natural clay. Buildings of 17-mid 19th century date were sealed by a railway embankment, but elsewhere they had been removed by later terracing.
